Parachute Activities

Flat Dart Board.

A board or flip chart is needed to keep the score. Three bean bags act as darts. The parachute lies flat on the floor. Numbers are scattered round the edge, with one number in each section, like a dart board. The concentric circles on the parachute can be like double or triple scores and the centre hole is the bulls-eye.

Have the children in teams of three. Each team takes a turn to throw the bean bags, with each child in the team using one of the bags. The score is recorded on the board/chart.

The other teams take their turn and their scores are recorded.

This could be played with each team trying to reach a score of 100 first.

It could be played like darts by starting with a high total and subtract the score after each turn until zero score is reached. By working out which section should be reached, it should be possible to get exactly to a zero score.
