Parachute Activities

Throw and catch

The parachute lies flat on the floor. The players stand all round the parachute with their toes on the edge of the parachute.

Several of the players are given a soft ball each.

The balls should be of different colours.

On the word “GO” by the leader a clock or stopwatch is started.

The players with the balls throw them across the parachute for someone opposite to catch. The one who catches a ball immediately throws it across the parachute to another player.

Every time a catch is missed and the ball falls to the ground anywhere, it is left where it falls.

Players are not allowed to move their toes from the edge of the parachute.

Play goes on until the last ball hits the ground. The clock is stopped.

The time is noted and the game is played again to beat the time recorded.
