Parachute Activities

Bean Bag Grab

The parachute is placed open and flat on the ground. Players are divided into threes and stand around the edge in their groups.

Under the parachute enough objects are placed for each team to be able to collect three different items, one of which is a bean bag.

The groups are spaced around the parachute and the players decide in which order they will run.

On the word “GO” the first player runs round the parachute and back to their partners, who lift the edge of the parachute so that the runner can crawl underneath and grab one of the objects.

The bean bag is left until last.

On returning to the edge with their booty, the second runner goes. On returning the players lift the edge and the runner crawls underneath and finds a different object to the first.

On returning to the edge the third runner sets off. On returning they crawl under the parachute and grab a bean bag.

The first team to sit on the parachute holding up three different objects, one of which must be a bean bag is the winner of the round. Play continues until all teams are sitting on the parachute.
