Parachute Activities

Take Your Place

The children sit around the edge of the parachute.

One person is chosen and has to walk around the outer circle and when they are ready they tap a person one the shoulder who is sitting down. It is then a race to see who gets back to that seating place first.

The person who was originally walking around runs around the circle in a clockwise direction and the 'tapped' person runs in an anti-clockwise direction.

The running children need to be careful when running passed each other that they don't collide.

The person who reaches the seating place sits down and the other person starts the game again by walking around the outer circle and chooses another person to race.

To extend the game, instead of tapping on the shoulder a bean bag could be dropped in front of the person sitting and this person must pick up the bean bag and race with it.
