Place the parachute on the floor. Let the children treat it like a huge sheet of paper which needs to be folded up.

Let them try to fold this circle into a square, a triangle, a rectangle, a semi-circle, a hexagon and so on.

Encourage them to note that a square needs four folds, a triangle three folds etc.
