Parachute Activities Sums with Dice

Two foam dice are needed. They should be about the six inch (15 cm.) size. The children hold the parachute ready to “mushroom” it. The dice are placed on the parachute. The parachute is mushroomed and shaken so that the dice both fly off it. Two children retrieve the dice making sure they remember the number showing on the top of the dice. The teacher calls out “Add the numbers” or “Take one number from the other”, or “Multiply the numbers”. This can be played by making one big flap of the parachute sending the dice into the air. The parachute is immediately placed on the floor, so that the two dice land on it. Sums are then called out as before.
