Classroom Key Stage 1 / KS1 — Physical Education (PE)

Learning about Physical Education is important for Key Stage 1 children as it helps them to understand the importance of exercise and the fun ways in which they can keep fit and healthy.

The Games area of this PE section includes many ideas for card & dice games, indoor & outdoor games, relay games, tag games and water games.

The Dance area provides an introduction to movement, information on theatre and ballet and includes links to other resources relating to PE for Key Stage 1 children.

The Gymnastics area includes a gymnastics word search as well as links to official gymnastics websites including The Official British Gymnastics Website, The Official British Gymnastics Junior Website and The Olympic Games Website.

The Swimming area of the KS1 Physical Education section teaches children about the different swimming styles including breast stroke, back crawl and front crawl. The swimming area also includes a fun, interactive quiz about water safety and an interactive mathematical swimming problem.

The Health and Safety area includes information aimed at helping Key Stage 1 children to learn about health problems and understand the importance of physical and social health.

The resources and activities in the KS1 Physical Education (PE) section are in an interactive, online, or printable format that brings a differing dynamic to the subject for children studying at Key Stage 1.
