Parachute Activities

Ball Dribble

The children stand around the edge of the parachute holding it with both hands and start to mushroom the parachute by lifting and lowering it. When it is at its highest the children bring the parachute over their heads and down their backs and hold onto the parachute with their hands.

Two footballs are then placed at the feet of two children standing next to each other. Each child then gently kicks (dribbles) the ball to the next child in the circle so that the balls are travelling in opposite directions.

Children are only allowed to use their feet.

When the balls arrive back to the start they are sent around again in the opposite direction.

The game gets interesting to see which ball arrives first.

Different size balls could be used and see whether that makes a difference as to which one wins the race.
